30 Day Nurture Challenge — Intro

This past weekend, I joined an artists’ collective that promises to be owned / operated by an artist, providing tips and feedback for other artists, in order to help the members grow as both artists and business-persons. As I’m very new to that community, I’m going to wait some time before I include a link to them on my site. The founder makes many of the same promises as similar “communities”—many of which I’ve found to promise all kinds of “growth opportunities”…as long as one is willing to shell out $100s for PREMIUM ACCESS. Even were I not financially incapable of paying said fees, Marm didn’t raise a fool, so I’m automatically suspect of the “car sales” approach to advice / feedback / mentorship. I’m more than willing to pay for services that have some measurable degree of success; what I won’t pay for is “promises” based on testimonials that, oddly, never seem to include the results for those that didn’t achieve success. This new collective seems quite different.

I’m sure I’ll discover more similarities and differences over time, but the first thing I noticed is that a considerable library of useful guides, planners, tips & tricks, and history of the owner’s journey are offered free. This is huge, for me, as signing up for the site didn’t require any purchase either. I don’t know whether additional content will be fee-based, but the offerings so far have been incredibly useful. That brings me to the purpose of this new blog section.

One of the initial Challenges is to spend the next 30 days writing and sharing short stories / memories / life snippets based on daily prompts. I believe the intent is to enable the artist (me) to build relationships with visitors to my site. At least, that’s what I’m getting from it. I’m in a bit of a holding pattern on my BIG PROJECT until I get some word on my grant application, so I thought I’d share my progress with you.

Let’s see how this works together, shall we?

As always, be well Gentle Reader,

Gryph
